Three branches of the U.S. military — the Army, Navy and Air Force — have turned to E-ONE for the contracted delivery of its newest firefighting arsenal. As a manufacturing leader in mission-critical vehicles with deliveries throughout the world, the REV brand, E-ONE, meets demand on these three military contracts.
E-ONE will deliver on a multi-unit award from the U.S. Army’s Defense Logistic Agency Troop Support’s Heavy Equipment Procurement Program (HEPP). The Army will receive nine new E-ONE Typhoon Pumpers to deploy to military bases, adding to the already 17 E-ONE pumpers purchased in 2014. Eight of the pumpers will be delivered to bases within the U.S., while the ninth one will be delivered to Puerto Rico.
The new U.S. Army pumpers have an E-ONE Typhoon™ chassis with spacious seating for four crew members. Each pumper has ample cab storage, featuring three medical cabinets and an exterior gear compartment. The heavy-duty front bumper includes a Line-X coated gravel shield for Army-tough durability. These pumpers perform with a 750-gal. water tank, 50-gal. foam tank, Waterous CSU 1500 GPM water pump and a high-capacity electronic foam system. The high-strength, extruded aluminum cab is the most durable structural frame cab in the industry with a “built-in” roll cage to provide maximum protection and comfort for U.S. Army crews.
The Navy is counting on E-ONE to deliver six new 4×4 Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF) vehicles to a number of bases throughout the U.S. The delivery is part of a HEPP-awarded, multi-unit project. Like the U.S. Army, E-ONE has supplied more than a dozen vehicles for the Navy in the last few years.
With a focus on crew safety and advanced technologies, each new ARFF vehicle includes a Pressure Pro monitoring system, which wirelessly displays tire pressure to the operator. Meanwhile, poly-lightweight hose loading boxes simplify pre-connect hose storage on each side of the vehicle, while an electric/hydraulic ladder rack allows the ladder to be accessed from ground level for better ergonomics. Each E-ONE Titan Force™ configuration boasts a Cummins 665 HP diesel engine, Allison transmission and the latest Ward Diesel “NO SMOKE” exhaust filtration system.
E-ONE is delivering seven 4×2 and four 4×4 E-ONE Typhoon™ structural pumpers to Air Force bases around the world. Each pumper features idle reduction technology (IRT), allowing the engine to automatically switch off as the diesel-powered generator takes over the 12-volt electrical functions. The IRT helps reduce fuel costs, vehicle emissions and engine noise.
Each top-mount rescue pumper is equipped with a 1250 GPM mid-ship pump, a 530-gallon water tank, dual 30-gallon foam cells and plenty of hose storage. For ultimate convenience on the frontline, the aluminum extruded body includes two poly speed lay trays for storing 1 ¾” pre-connected hand lines, while the electric/hydraulic ladder rack is specially designed to lower the stowed ladder’s center point within 48 inches from the ground. Other selected options include compressed air foam system (CAFS), automatic tire chains and rear suction configurations.
E-ONE’s unrivaled value resonates as one of the top reasons the military’s Heavy Equipment Procurement Program continues to recruit E-ONE for the job.
