Visitors to the E-ONE Fire Locker online store will notice a couple of new additions to the high-quality apparel and gear — two Christmas Tree ornaments featuring iconic E-ONE fire trucks. Adorned with either a real image of an E-ONE HPS 100 Platform Truck or an illustration of a fire truck reminiscent of childhood toys, each of the tree ornaments feature the message ‘Happy Holidays,’ and sit in front of background filled with actual fire truck diagrams and technical aspects.
David Moore, E-ONE Marketing Communications Coordinator, shared his thoughts on why and how these unique Christmas Tree ornaments came to be. “We wanted to create a great holiday ornament that E-ONE families and fans could hang on their trees, as well as remind them of coming home. E-ONE started in Ocala, Florida, in 1974, and the image of the HPS 100 reminds us of where this all began
Moore also expressed the deep-connection fire trucks have had with Christmas ever since he could remember. “Fire trucks have always been a part of Christmas. Each year, you’ll find Santa riding in on one in parades all across the country.”
However, simply creating a cool fire truck ornament wasn’t the goal for E-ONE. With the message and feelings that come with the holiday season, and the nature of the business they’re in, that is, supporting firefighters with reliable and life-saving vehicles, they knew they had an opportunity to give back. With every sale, the net proceeds made from these ornaments will be donated to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF).
Based out of Emmitsburg, Maryland, the NFFF has been honoring fallen fire heroes, and supporting their families and co-workers, for more than 25 years. “Our President, Dan Peters, suggested the NFFF first, and we all agreed it’s a great foundation that really gives back to real-life heroes — no matter the time of year. So, while we always wanted to make a feel-good product, just knowing that the proceeds of your purchase go to families who have suffered loss and are going through hard times made this an easy decision,” said Moore.
Continuing to partner with organizations performing great and meaningful work in the communities around them, the NFFF was a natural extension of the #REVCares campaign. With three fire brands under the REV Group umbrella, REV’s own mission to “connect and protect communities” includes protecting the men, women, and families who serve all across the United States. On the NFFF’s site, the message is clear:
“Our mission is to honor and remember America's fallen fire heroes, to provide resources to assist their survivors in rebuilding their lives, and work within the fire service community to reduce firefighter deaths and injuries.”
In addition to hanging your own E-ONE ornament from the Christmas Tree, you can help honor the brave men and women who gave their lives to save others by donating to the NFFF directly on their website: https://www.firehero.org/donate/
Combining childhood wonder, as well as the notion of coming home again, the ornaments mean a lot to the E-ONE team, the NFF Foundation, and the city of Ocala.
“The City of Ocala and Ocala Fire Rescue are proud of the relationship we share with E-One. We applaud their benevolent act of donating the proceeds of these handsome Christmas tree ornaments to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation,” said Fire Chief Bradd Clark of Ocala Fire Rescue. “We can think of no better example of a character-rich organization that embodies the traits of honor and virtue than the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. We are proud to be a part of this great endeavor.”
For those looking to get their hands on more E-ONE gear before and after the holiday season, the E-ONE Fire Locker digital store features a number of year-round merchandise, from jackets, beanies, backpacks, and gadgets. “We find that E-ONE’s quality really resonates with firefighters and fire truck enthusiasts,” says Moore. “Plus, with new items continuing to be added to the Fire Locker store, they’ll always have a place to find fun and high-quality gifts for family and friends.”
Moore added, “At E-ONE, we have a saying; ‘Every Christmas Tree needs a fire truck ornament.’”
This December, all three of REV Group Fire brands are looking out for firefighters across the nation with their own unique Christmas Tree ornaments. In addition to E-ONE, KME and Ferrara have also created two dual-sided, circular-shaped ornaments that families can dress their trees with, while also donating to a great cause. Each of the KME and Ferrara ornament sales proceeds will also be donated to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.
Christmastime or not, you can always donate directly to the NFFF at their website.
