The REV Bus Group surges into the second quarter of 2016 with a new partnership and mass deliveries under the division’s belt. This wheeling, dealing momentum has helped REV connect more people to their communities than ever before.
Let’s start in sunny south Florida …
Champion Bus, a REV Group brand, has helped put 138 fuel efficient vehicles on the streets of Broward County in Florida over the last year. As of March 2016, the Broward County Transit has reported significant operational savings thanks to these propane autogas buses, which are helping to serve 410 square miles of fixed paratransit routes.
MotorWeek magazine touts the 138 bus delivery as one of the U.S. Department of Energy’s “success stories” from its Clean Cities program. Not only has this clean fleet lowered tailpipe emissions, making for brighter Florida skies, but also Champion’s impact has helped Broward County Transit slash its operating budget by $800,000. The county also expects to receive another $600,00 in the form of a federal alternative tax rebate.
In addition, to propane autogas, many of REV’s vehicle brands offer other alternative vehicle fuel solutions, including compressed natural gas.
Following on the heels of Champion’s impactful green news, REV Bus Group announced a special spring sales event partnership with the nation’s largest commercial bus dealer in the northwest, Schetky Bus and Van Sales. As the longest established dealer in this region with the nation’s top senior living bus sales, REV is excited about expanding its already four-decade relationship with the dealership. Schetky has a long relationship history with REV bus brands ENC, ElDorado, Goshen and Champion Bus.
The sales event partnership kicks off with a presentation of a Champion Bus unit in the Schetky Bus and Van Sales booth at the Argentum Senior Living Executive Conference and Tradeshow (formerly ALFA) in Denver. The show runs from May 9-12, and REV will display Champion’s LF Transport®, a leader in the industry for its wheelchair accessible bus innovations. (This month, we wrote about Champion’s new Squat®-kneeling technology, just one of its latest innovations.)
“We are very impressed with the leadership at REV and its focus on innovating products that will change the bus landscape,” said David Schetky, a sales manager and the fourth generation of Schetky family to manage the dealership. “Schetky and REV share the same values in that we have a deep respect for the history of the transportation industry while looking forward to introducing new technologies and platforms that can best serve future generations.”
